Torn between a hard tail and a full-suspension cross country machine? Lee Cougan's Rampage Innova is exactly that - a unique hybrid of the two, made without compromises. The frame looks like a hard tail, but you've probably noticed a strange extra piece of carbon right where the rear suspension should be. That is Lee Cougan's patent pending ISS system (Innova Structural Suspension). The result? A bike with 100mm front suspension and 30mm of rear suspension packed into a super lightweight 1300g frame. As fast as a hard tail, as capable as a full-sus.
What is ISS?
The engineers at Lee Cougan tapered the chainstays, and working with the oil pistons seen at the seat tube, allows for 30mm of rear suspension. The oil pistons, along with the frame design, also ensure that the frame remains stiff when under load such as sprinting out of the saddle.
A full Shimano Deore XT 1x12 groupset, Rockshock SID SL fork, along with Microtech RK25 alloy wheels finish off the build.
