The Scylon is Time's race-ready aero bike. Handmade in France, this is a seriously exclusive frame, made for riders who can appreciate high quality and high efficiency of more raffined road frames. Obviously, for a race bike like the Scylon, aerodynamics and stiffness were the 2 priorities. The result is a shape that has been optimized for speed, yet retains a classic race bike look.
The Scylon offers immediate response with the characteristic snap only the best racing frames provide. To attain this level of performance and balance, Time used high modulus fibers, a BB386 bottom bracket and a directlink seat tube that allows better energy transfer. The geometry is long and low, perfect for top speed on flat roads and descents.
If you're looking for speed, classic looks and impeccable fit and finish, the Time Scylon is a serious contender.
Aktiv places a low-mass metallic damper in each fork leg. Vibrations that enter the fork transfer to the damper, which oscillates at the same frequency to cancel out some of the buzz. It’s the same basic physics used to stabilize the famed Taipei 101 skyscraper against wind and seismic movement (although in that case, the damper weighs 728 tons; Time’s Aktiv system only adds about 200 grams to the fork weight).
